This artisanal agricole rum, from the fertile lands of Madeira Island, was produced by O Reizinho, known for its traditional production methods and respect for raw materials. This 9-month-old rum, bottled by That Boutique-Y, lies at the border between unaged white rum and "aged" rum. Entirely crafted from pure sugarcane juice, this rum was aged in ex-fortified Madeira wine casks, giving it a brilliant golden hue and exceptional aromatic complexity. This batch no. 3, produced in 2019, celebrates the terroir and local craftsmanship, offering a unique tasting experience where the freshness of raw sugarcane meets the fruity and spicy aromas from its brief cask aging.
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: Vibrant aromas of green banana and intense vegetal notes emerge right from the first contact. A saline touch evokes olives, accompanied by a hint of black pepper and herbal freshness.
PALATE: An explosion of green and funky flavors. Unripe banana remains at the center of the experience, framed by spices like black pepper and a subtle salinity reminiscent of sea air. This agricole rum stands out for its raw, intense, and unique character.
FINISH: Powerful and crunchy, the finish is dominated by persistent vegetal notes and a slight saline seasoning. A conclusion marked by remarkable depth and intensity.
