DT Highland Park Rarest Accolade 1970-54Y-42.9%
Dive into the world of refinement with The Accolade, an iconic single malt from Duncan Taylor's Rarest collection. Distilled in 1970 on the wild lands of Orkney and aged for 54 years in sherry-seasoned oak casks, this exceptional whisky embodies the pinnacle of the art of maturation. Limited to only 158 bottles and bottled at 42.9% ABV, The Accolade is the oldest Highland Park ever presented by an independent bottler, a testament to Duncan Taylor's mastery and dedication. Presented in a hand-blown glass decanter shaped like a dagger and housed in a spectacular cabinet adorned with a wave-inspired design, this treasure comes with a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive handling kit.
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: A complex and captivating bouquet. From the first whiffs, deep notes of aged leather and caramel emerge, accompanied by hints of almond paste and delicate red fruits (cherries, raspberries). In the background, a soft and persistent smoke blends with aromas of ripe melon.
PALATE: The creamy texture envelops the palate, releasing flavors of candied cherries and dried apricots, intertwined with subtle floral peat nuances and a warm hint of nutmeg. A maritime minerality then reveals itself, evoking wet stones and the salty sea air of Orkney.
FINISH: Long, elegant, and silky. It concludes with smooth crème brûlée enhanced by notes of caramelized red apple. Soft spices linger, leaving a lasting impression of tarte tatin and vanilla sweetness.
