His legend was instrumental to the independence of the island during the Revolution of the 1890s. The figure of Don Papa is inspired by Papa Isio, though he is not the same person. Rather, Don Papa is the embodiment of the spirit of Sugarlandia.

Karakoli, an aged rum from the Baie des Trésors collection, draws its distinctive character from the dry plots of Spoutourne, located at the tip of the Caravelle peninsula in Martinique. This very scarcity of water gives Karakoli its unique aromatic richness and structure, highlighting the power of an arid terroir.
