The Finlaggan Sherry Finished is an iconic peated single malt, distilled on the legendary island of Islay. This whisky stands out for its double maturation: first aged in traditional casks, it gains additional depth through a sherry cask finish. This subtle marriage between the strength of peat and the sweetness of sherry offers a unique tasting experience, rich in contrasts and complexity. With its 46% alcohol content, this whisky is non-chill filtered, preserving the full intensity of its aromas and flavors. This single malt is produced in small batches, making each bottle a prized rarity for discerning enthusiasts.

Built in 1819 by Hugh Munro and his brother, wealthy landlords in the north of Scotland. A distillery that is used as a Northern Highland base for many a blend due to it's rich and complex flavour profile. In 1933 the distillery is sold to DCL, and increases in 1970 from 4 to 6 pot stills. In 2014 a new distillery is built with 6 new Pot Stills.

The casks numbered 49541 and 49542 have been gracefully resting in warehouse 6 since they were filled on September 21, 1978, gently and slowly maturing the precious spirit they contain. After thirty years, the spirit was transferred into the finest Spanish first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks and was aged for an additional decade under the careful and enduring care of Tomatin distillery's custodians.

TASTING NOTES : NOSE: Upon opening, the nose is dominated by warm aromas of caramel and flambéed banana. Delicate notes of butter and candied fruits gradually emerge, accompanied by a subtle woody touch inherited from the cognac barrels. PALATE: The palate is rich and creamy, offering a perfect harmony between sweetness and freshness. Flavors of roasted banana and caramelized sugar are enhanced by woody nuances. FINISH: The finish is long and delicate, reminiscent of homemade desserts featuring tropical fruits and caramel.

The Finlaggan Cask Strength is an iconic peated whisky from the Isle of Islay, bottled at its natural strength of 58%, without dilution or chill filtration.
