GlenAllachie 9Y Douro Valley - Wine Cask Finish

Today, Black Bull is still blended according to the same original formula, with a high percentage of quality malts from Speyside and the Highlands, matured in sherry and bourbon casks, mixed according to a high malt-to-grain ratio, and finally bottled at a robust alcohol strength of 50%. Black Bull 21 is non-chill filtered, allowing the character of each carefully selected 21-year-old whisky to fully express itself, resulting in a unique and exceptional blend in its category.

TASTIN NOTES

Nose: Pungent peaty smoke. Phenolic with a little coastal breeze.

Palate: Lovely sweet peatiness. Some iodine and sea salt balance with vanilla notes and some spice

Finish: Waves of smoke. Fantastic length.

Each edition of the Sinteis Series is based on a double maturation: an unusual virgin oak cask combined with a classic sherry cask. The result? A Single Malt from Speyside with an Sauternes cask finish. All the elegance and refinement that one would expect from a Speyside Whisky. This is so well illustrated by the beautiful painting of my second cousin, the famous Scottish Artist, Archibald Dunbar McIntosh, who reveals in his painting all the warmth of the Scottish landscape and unique changing contours.

The Doorly's 12 years, an iconic product of the Foursquare distillery in Barbados, embodies the art of rum distillation and blending. This exceptional rum is the result of careful twelve-year maturation in the tropics, in barrels that previously contained Kentucky bourbon and Madeira.
This double distillation, using both pot still and column still, gives this rum unmatched aromatic complexity and finesse.

To create the GlenAllachie Wine Cask series, master blender Billy Walker first matured the spirit in the finest American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before transferring the whisky into hand-selected European wine casks for secondary aging.
Billy added a distinctive touch to this edition by blending four exceptional wine cask finishes into one unique expression: The Cuvée Wine Cask Finish.
The 9-year-old Cuvée is a marriage of spirits from several fine wine barrels originating from the world-renowned regions of Bordeaux, Languedoc, and Valpolicella.
