To extract all the delicate aromas from elderflower blossoms, the production of Merlet's Efferlet follows a precise process. First, the flowers are infused in hot water; once the tisane is cooled, it is stabilized with fine alcohol. Pusser's Select Aged 151, or Overproof, is produced at "cask strength," as it was shipped to the Royal Navy victualling yards in Deptford, Gosport, and Devonport for blending and dilution "to Proof."
