Penderyn Portwood, a single malt whisky made in Wales, owes its name to the type of cask in which it is finished; export barrels. Previously, the whisky had been aged for several years in American oak. The selected casks impart rich fruity influences to this whisky, with clear notes of port.
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: Aromas of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and cranberries, with a hint of toasted oak blending with the dryness of roasted hazelnuts.
PALATE: Rich and creamy, with emerging notes of honey and spices.
FINISH: Smooth with soft notes of oak wood and honey lingering on the tongue.
