TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: Enchanting aromas of dark chocolate, molasses, and heather honey, accompanied by cinnamon, espresso, and candied raisins. The aromatic profile is intense and complex, with a depth reminiscent of an incomparable sherry, marked by notes of dried peach, plums, figs, and a hint of tobacco in the empty glass.
PALATE: On the palate, there is a perfect continuation of the nose, with a dense and thick texture. The power of sweet sherry manifests in a harmonious ensemble of figs, dried peaches, plums, sweet dark chocolate, cream liqueur, with a slight touch of eucalyptus and a wave of grape acidity. Sweetness is omnipresent, enriched by nuances of sweet caramel and plum jam.
FINISH: The finish is spicy, astringent, and woody, offering an exceptional length that lingers with confidence. It is marked by persistent sweetness and a slightly sticky character, perfectly balanced by woody notes.

Factors such as the oak essence, the toasting level, and the cooperage of the cask each leave a unique mark on the spirit at rest. The oak itself was previously influenced by the grape variety and the terroir of the wine estate from which these barrels originate; thus, the wood adds distinct layers of complexity, depth, and charm. These French oak barrels were sourced from one of the five Premier Cru Classé châteaux located in the Bordeaux wine region of France, which is globally renowned.

The GlenAllachie Wine Cask Finish series is a tribute to the art of aging and the expertise of master blender Billy Walker. For this 2023 edition, the whisky, first matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, underwent a second aging in meticulously selected European wine barrels. This special edition, named "The Cuvée Wine Cask Finish," is an elegant and complex blend of four finishes from prestigious wine regions: the French AOCs of Languedoc and Médoc, as well as the Italian Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella barrels. This rare single malt offers a unique aromatic richness, combining red fruits, delicate spices, and bursts of citrus for a sensory experience full of character.
ABK6 XO Family Cellar + ETUI
The terrior of ABK6 is a chalky hilltop at 154m of altitude. For this spirits 100% Ugni-blanc grapes are used. The vinification took place in thermoregulated vats. The distillation was a double distillation in small Charentals pot-stills. This Cognac is aged in new and old french Limousin oak barrels of 350-liters, with a finish in XO barrels.
