It is finished in Oloroso casks from Montilla , a small town found in the rolling hills of the Spanish countryside. Glendalough Peated Pot Still is a bold fusion between Irish whiskey tradition and innovation, redefining the Pot Still style. It is made from malted and unmalted barley, distilled in traditional copper pot stills, and aged for over seven years. The introduction of peated malt, smoked during drying, adds a bold twist, blending delicate smoke with the characteristic spices and creamy texture of Pot Still whiskey. Crafted and bottled at 46% ABV, it begins its maturation in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It then spends an additional four years in virgin oak casks. This long aging process imparts notes of toasted oak, rich vanilla, and warm spices, perfectly balanced by a subtle peated smoke. A very special edition, available for a limited time only.

There is no more Irish whiskey than Pot Still; thus, Glendalough Distillery feels it is fitting to age it in Irish Oak. Glendalough Distillery is proud to play its part in bringing back the use of Irish oak for whiskey cask-making. This most quintessentially Irish style of whiskey, pot still, is first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then in Irish Oak felled in the mountains around the distillery.

Canteiro aged Madeira casks from off the coast of Africa which held Madeira fortified wine, soak up and impart intense aromas and flavours created by the heat and tropical climate of their home-place.

TASTING NOTES:

Made from a selection of Speyside malts, Golden Glen is aged in oak barrels for three years. It has a light amber color, with pleasant aromas of honey and vanilla, and a smooth flavor.
