TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: The nose opens with rich and captivating notes of caramel and burnt sugar, accompanied by a slight hint of lemon oil. Vanilla and rich tobacco blend harmoniously with toasted wood, revealing subtle aromas of coconut and light leather. A fragrance of roasted nuts adds depth and additional complexity.
PALATE: On the palate, this rum is distinguished by its smoothness and balance. Vanilla and wood blend elegantly, unveiling flavors of mild cocoa, caramel, and warm leather. Nuts and tobacco persist, offering a refined and well-structured tasting experience. Rum & Cane Spanish Carribean XO is a blend of two traditional Spanish molasses rums, one produced in Cuba and the other in the Dominican Republic. This rum has been aged for at least 6 years in American oak barrels that previously contained bourbon.
Compagnie des Indes Latino comes from a blend of rums essentially of "Spanish" type (60% comes from Guatemala) but not only, since a part of the rum which composes it comes from Guyana (English influence).The Spanish type brings the greediness while the English influence brings a touch of freshness. 5 years of aging in new barrels (bourbon) have allowed this rum to acquire its roundness and a rich palette of aromas. The rum was bottled without cold filtration.
The terrior of ABK6 is a chalky hilltop at 154m of altitude. For this spirit 100% Ugni-blanc grapes were used. The vinification took place in thermoregulated vats. The distillation was a double distillation in small charentals pot-stills. This Cognac is aged in new and old French Limousin oak barrels of 350 liters.
