TASTING NOTES
NOSE: Upon opening, delicious aromas of cooked blackcurrants and blackberry crumble fill the nose, with a slight hint of clove adding a subtle spicy note.
PALATE: The biscuity malt opens up to an explosion of juicy Port flavors, with rich red fruits and warming woody spices that gradually develop.
FINISH: The finish is long and comforting, with notes of chestnuts, candied orange, a slight trace of fennel, and boozy cherries that pleasantly linger.

Kanlaon, where the finest sugarcane is milled to produce sweet, rich molasses. Don Papa is a tribute to Papa Isio, the real and charismatic leader from the island of Negros, Philippines. His legend was instrumental to the independence of the island during the Revolution of the 1890s. The figure of Don Papa is inspired by Papa Isio, though he is not the same person. Rather, Don Papa is the embodiment of the spirit of Sugarlandia.
