Tasting notes Nose Smoky orange zest, hints of candied ginger, liquorice and anise. Palate Orange, rich chocolate, suntle vanilla, star anise and all spice with smoke at the end. Finish Like a smiked liquid Christmas cake with rich dark chocolate running through it.

From a single cask, distilled in 2016, just 231 bottles have been filled at natural cask strength The Nantou Distillery is a Government owned business (Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation). While the Nantou distillery is slightly older than the more well known Kavalan distillery, whisky production didn’t start until 2008. Production techniques are modelled after those utilised in Scotland in the 80s. Malted barley is imported from Scotland and ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks are used for the maturation.
