The Crème de Cassis de Merlet has held the status of Geographical Indication since 2015, a recognition of the unique expertise developed over 30 years in the cultivation of blackcurrants and their transformation into liqueur. The complete mastery of berry cultivation and harvest, their ripeness, and their transformation by the Merlet family, combined with a high concentration of macerated fruits, are the keys to the extreme intensity and complexity achieved.
TASTING NOTES:
COLOUR: An opaque robe of an almost black violet, clinging to the glass.
NOSE: An extremely powerful nose of ripe blackcurrant. Very distinct notes of spices, mint, tobacco, and pepper.
PALATE: A supple touch, very rich and syrupy, with a tangy explosion of blackcurrant, leaving an exquisite imprint long after tasting.
