Knappogue Castle 12Y Marchesi Di Barolo 46%

Palo Cortado is the rarest style of Sherry that combines the dryness of Fino with the nutty and darker fruit characteristics of Oloroso. It develops when the ‘flor’ yeast layer naturally dies on a wine that was initially intended to become a Fino. Using puncheons and hogshead casks that previously held this exceptional Sherry, the spirit develops a beautifully layered character, with notes of ripe plums, dark mocha and warming cinnamon spice. We proudly present The Wood Collection at a high strength of 48% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, allowing ethe unique character to shine through.

Knappogue Castle 14Y

Knappogue [NA-POGUE] takes its name from the castle which inspired it – the castle on “The kissing hill”. Built in 1467, the stronghold had fallen into ruin by 1966 when Mark Edwin Andrews and his wife Lavonne (both architects) restored it and filled it with some of Ireland’s best casks of whiskey. Some of these became the oldest, rarest commercially available whiskeys, the others helped define Irish single malt whiskey itself. The result of a marriage of 14 YO Single Malts aged in two types of wood: American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels and Spanish red oak Oloroso Sherry casks.
