From a single cask, distilled in 2016, just 231 bottles have been filled at natural cask strength The Nantou Distillery is a Government owned business (Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation). While the Nantou distillery is slightly older than the more well known Kavalan distillery, whisky production didn’t start until 2008. Production techniques are modelled after those utilised in Scotland in the 80s. Malted barley is imported from Scotland and ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks are used for the maturation.

Another brand new label with our first Teerenpeli release! Family owned Teerenpeli Distillery was established 2002 in Lahti, Finland. Today the distillery is the biggest distillery in Finland specialized in producing single malt whiskies. A 5 Year Old, bottled at 47.6% abv.

This is our second batch of Blended Whisky from this long closed New Zealand distillery. It’s an 18 Year Old, bottled at 50.5% abv.

The Matsui – Mizunara Cask, is a single malt distilled by the Kurayoshi distillery, located in Tottori Prefecture. This whisky is aged in Mizunara oak casks. Mizunara wood is renowned both for its rarity and the complexity it presents in crafting. This oak takes 200 to 300 years to reach maturity, imparting exceptional aromatic qualities. This variety of oak is found only in the forests of Hokkaido and in the Tohoku region, in northern Honshu. Mizunara provides a honeyed woodiness that envelops the whisky and brings an elegant length specific to this type of aging. Japanese single malt whisky matured in a single Sakura cask, known for its quality. Combined with a malt aroma and the bitter taste of an unblended whisky, delicately soft and crisp notes of cherry also come through across the palate. The whisky is matured in Tottori prefecture, in a natural environment where the temperature changes considerably from one season to the next. The whisky is subtly finished with high-quality natural spring water from Mount Daisen.
